May Day, May Day!

May 6th, 2009

My kids just celebrated May Day at school with all the festivities.  They sang, wore flower garlands and danced around the May pole!  We even had a strings concert and were invited to contra dance to the music.  It was all in great fun!

Back to school!

January 7th, 2009

I’m feeling like our life is getting back to a somewhat normal state.  We had a wonderful Christmas - I even got presents from santa!  The kids are back in school and I’m back to “work”.  I am pretty obsessed with finding recipes to try and make for the family.  It’s my new thing.  My wife completely loves it and if momma ain’t happy, no one is happy.  Thanks for reading!

Really cool recipe site…

I have stumbled upon a site chef at large, and love it!  The people are so friendly and actually comment back to you.  I am off to try some more recipes, because my wife loves it when I cook!

Harvest time!

October 1st, 2008

We had our first harvest last month and I wanted to share pictures.  The kids loved helping pick our grapes!  We all got to go in the truck and deliver them too - a lot of fun for a small vineyard.  Here’s some pictures:

Summer and swimming!

June 23rd, 2008

Oh boy how we love summer!  THe kids swim like fishes and we relax like we’re on vacation!  It’s always nice to have a pool in the backyard, but we really do feel like we’re on vacation!   Here’s a summer shot:

It snowed here!

January 9th, 2008

I have to share these pictures!  It snowed here and it never does.  My kids got to stay home from school and WOW - so much fun!  Here’s a picture of the snow:

Sick Household.

October 1st, 2007

Man, fall is definitely here!  My kids have been sick for weeks, it seems.  You know, the back to school, get sick the first week, then we’re ok, now WHAM, we’re taking turns being sick.  First my son got the cold.  Then I did.  Then my daugther got the flu.  Then I did.  Then I got the cold too.  What’s up with that?  My wife seems to be the only strong one around here!  (I guess they are the stronger then men, but don’t say I said that).

Yay for Halloween…

October 28th, 2006

I love it when the kids dress up, actually I like to dress up for Halloween also!  We typically don’t go Trick - or - Treating, because we just buy the candy and eat it!  The kids get together with school mates and do games and have fun, rather than the door to door thing.  I’m sure they will enjoy that someday, but for now I’m not doing it LOL.  Here’s some pumpkin pictures to enjoy!

Skiing was a blast!

February 22nd, 2006

We made it through the storm and ended up going skiing for a week.  The kids really enjoyed the snow.  We took lessons and went sledding a lot!  My daughter complained a lot about being cold, but forgot pretty quick when she was having fun!  We went with a group of friends so there was a lot for us to do at all times.  Here’s a picture of our son skiing

Rain, Snow and Winter….

February 2nd, 2006

Ready or not.  It’s been a rough few days with lots of rain and flooding.  In the mountains it’s been snowing and the run off is just pounding the rivers.  We’ve been under flood watch for days and we’re thinking of leaving with the kids.  If we can make it to ski week, we can get away for a week or so.  We’re just hoping the weather holds out for another week so we can get out of here!
